The Shard & City Hall, London — Original Photography

I took this photograph in 2024, looking across toward the South Bank. The Shard dominates the frame — Renzo Piano's glass splinter, still the tallest building in the UK, still somehow surprising no matter how many times you see it. Behind it, the curved form of City Hall sits lower, quieter, the two buildings in an unlikely but very London kind of conversation.

What I like about this shot is the contrast: the Shard's sharp geometry against the sky, and City Hall's organic, almost biological shape tucked in behind. It's a photograph about how London keeps building on top of itself — and somehow making it work.
