Wassily Kandinsky's "St. George and the Dragon" is a famous allegorical painting, with several versions created between 1911 and 1915, including a significant work on reverse glass in the Blue Rider style. The piece depicts the mythical battle between the knight and the dragon, interpreted through Kandinsky's signature abstract, non-representational style, using dynamic composition, vibrant colors, and energetic brushstrokes to convey the spiritual struggle between good and evil. Inspired by popular Bavarian reverse glass painting and Old Russian art, Kandinsky transformed the motif to express inner essence rather than physical reality, influencing the development of abstract art.
