Saffron yellow answers from the left, while rose pink and orange gather beneath it. Deep blue and near-black forms hold the centre; passages of warm white give the eye somewhere to rest. Julio Abstraction is an original Elliott Best studio artwork built around these encounters: warm against cool, density against space, restless movement against a quietly assured structure.

Its richly worked appearance invites a second look. Broad, impasto-like passages meet scraped edges and slender traces of underlying colour, giving the image a sense of accumulation and discovery. From across a room, the composition reads as a confident arrangement of colour. Up close, its layered details offer a more intimate conversation.

A Contemporary Conversation with Abstraction

Julio Abstraction belongs to the studio's contemporary practice, where the traditions of modern painting become a starting point for new work. Its interplay of gesture and structure recalls abstraction's enduring question: what can a painting communicate without describing a recognisable scene? Here, colour carries the feeling, and the arrangement of forms supplies the rhythm. This is an Elliott Best original, not a restoration or reproduction of a historical artist's work.

The Elliott Best Studio Approach

Colour as expression: turquoise, yellow, pink and orange establish an immediate, spirited presence.

Structure beneath the gesture: dark vertical forms anchor the composition without stilling its movement.

Detail that rewards attention: layered marks and broken edges create a richly textured visual character.

Room to breathe: warm white passages balance the saturated colour and bring clarity to the whole.

Elliott Best Limited Edition

Julio Abstraction is issued in a strictly limited edition of 100.
